Teen Programs

The teenage years are a time of rapid growth and development; mentally, emotionally, physically and socially. It is a time for change and we all know that change can be hard. Are you a teenager or do you have a teen at home that is suffering from physical ailments like acne or difficult periods and PMS? Are the social pressures of school, friends and/or sports triggering anxiety or low moods? Is choosing healthy food options a challenge? Is the adventure of college approaching and guidance is needed?

Teens working with Dr. Bridget can experience a safe space to talk and receive support on the many challenging facets of being a teenager. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions over 4-6 months foster a supportive relationship with a growth mindset to work on physical and mental/emotional health. Every teen program begins with a meeting with the parents to discuss areas of potential concern or goals parents hold for their teen and will include a meeting at the end of the program to discuss growth and next steps. All visits are held via zoom and weekend appointments are available to accommodate busy school schedules.

Please contact HEAL Natural Medicine if the teenager in your life needs empathetic guidance and our health focused program.

A Mother's Journey

Dr. Bridget loves supporting women on their mothering journey. Whether that is preconception counseling, fertility support, grief support surrounding a loss of a child to postpartum recovery; Dr. Bridget would like to help.

Women typically receive excellent medical support during pregnancy. However, that difficult or surprising conception and the potentially isolated and showerless time of the postpartum haze are areas that desperately need further support. Dr. Bridget personally understands both sides of pregnancy and motherhood-the unbelievable joys to the potential health challenges. Working with women on pre-conception cleanses, fertility strengthening, hormone balancing, nutritional boosting, lactation support and the mental and emotional growth of becoming a mother for the first or multiple children is a wonderful time for enthusiastic guidance.

All visits will be held via zoom or phone calls. Programs range from 6 months to 12 months depending on goals. If you are interested in this supportive program for future, soon to be or seasoned mothers, please contact HEAL Natural Medicine.

Wellness Journey

As we know, “change is the only constant in life” but are you experiencing any changes that you don’t enjoy? Changes such as overwhelming stress, a declining sex drive, increased anxiety and daily fatigue? Are health conditions beginning to arise like blood sugar issues, hypertension and weight gain? Women, are you experiencing hot flashes and night sweats? Are you chronically experiencing stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation or bloating? Have you just begun thinking this is “normal”?

What if it could change? What might life be like with more energy, balanced hormones and an effective way to manage stress? This can be possible with the right guidance and desire for optimizing health versus just getting through the day. Dr. Bridget Anderson works with you by setting short term attainable goals while moving towards your larger picture of optimal health. By analyzing laboratory markers and a thorough health history we begin our treatment plan specifically geared for your life. Working together weekly or bi-weekly; we problem solve in real time to not let precious time go by slipping into old patterns. This is not fad dieting and is not a crash course into health with overwhelming plans. Our goal is for life long and sustainable change that empowers YOU to take control of your health- mentally, emotionally and physically.

Check out our recent blog post, Are Food Sensitivities Making me Fat?

There are two types of negative reactions to foods: One is the instant (IgE-mediated) reaction such as rash, itching, or anaphylaxis. Common offenders are shellfish or peanut allergy. The other type of reaction is more subtle. It is a smoldering and chronic (IgG mediated) reaction with vague symptoms, which you may have unknowingly lived with your whole life. These low-grade reactions can occur at any or all meals, which makes pinpointing the exact food culprit difficult. It’s this second type of reaction that is often a hidden factor in someone’s inability to lose weight, lower blood pressure, or treat any number of other ailments.

Because the successful diagnosis and treatment of subtle food sensitivities is challenging, we recommend consulting with a naturopathic doctor. Working together, you and your doctor will identify the offending foods, develop a nutritional plan for avoiding the sensitivities, and create a gut-healing program that will reduce total body inflammation. Then you can look forward to feeling refreshed, thinner and revitalized!
